I guess my gchat status has sparred some interests. “what is swtor?”, many asked.

I enjoyed playing mmorpgs. From EQ to now the 2nd time on WoW, but I am really looking forward to SWTOR, or Star Wars: The Old Republic

The two trailers currently are really well done, I think BioWare did a fantastic job creating those. The game itself is still much of a mystery for me, since I am not in the beta. We will see what will happen tho, I think we finally might have a legit WoW competitor here.

Maybe they should require helmet in the lab too, or maybe I should just bring some from the CEPM office.

We all know Atila’s lab is hazardous, normally compounding by the act of me not wearing real shoes… No one is here yelling OSHA at me for some time now, but I am rarely hurt… until Monday.

I hit my head on the cabinet of the chamber HVAC controller. I felt fine at the time, but since then, I been feeling headache, dizziness and lost of attention. My mind wonders more than usual. Let’s hope I don’t drop dead over next weeks or so (heard that one before), or had eternal bleeding (would be dead by now).

More likely its just minor concussion, but at this age, I guess the symptoms are more prominent (if that even make sense).

Anyway, my new Samsung Captivate (GalaxyS clone) is pretty nice. I’d get a HTC if stupid AT&T would carry the EVO, but oh well. Having Android means “Angry Birds” is free and sure enough, it has been the time waster for me.

Addicting game for sure, but it also showcased the lack of battery life this new phone has… 5 hours of playing birds and its dead? I wonder whether this battery is defective.

Incidentally, my proposal defense passed, I guess I will finish this research after all.

Power of a Rurouni

Every time I return to fencing after some time away, I feel like I lost something. Less familiar faces in practice, point control outta whack, distance way too close. I remember when I was still taking lessons from Vinny, the first lesson after every Christmas, I couldn’t keep my arm in en guard because the muscles had gone weak.

Weak, that’s probably correct description for my fencing, or just my overall physical state. It probably requires lots of vitamin, exercising and some sort of good eating habit to get it back, but hack, its too much work. As Nik would say, I am the epiphany of Laziness.

This reminded me that when I first start watching Kenshin in 1998, this specific clip sparks my interest for this particular anime, one of the classic for sure.

Before this clip, Kenshin said he no longer needs the power of Battousai, and the power of a rurouni is enough to protect the people around him. However, Saito told Kenshin that he doesn’t even have that kind of power anymore, and proved to him in action.

As I lose the skills I once possessed, I wonder how much fight I have left in me. I have lost the urge to get better ever since I got my A, knowing any improvement is not possible unless one dedicates life to it.

but do I still have the power of a rurouni? I don’t know, maybe that’s why I keep coming back to fencing. I guess the day I realize even that much fight has left me, I will stop.
